For the last four weeks, I have been volunteering at the KZHE radio station in Magnolia Arkansas. This station plays classic country hits. I have loved volunteering here, and I love being on air. This is something that I was not originally used to. However, throughout my time here, I have analyzed lots of details around this station. Throughout this paper, I will be giving some PR suggestions about how they could potentially grow their brand.       The first element that I noticed about the station were the times in which they have their shows. There are currently 2 live shows. They have a morning show every day Monday through Friday from 6-10 AM. They also have a live call-in show once a week at noon.       Typically, because their most popular live show is in the morning, their target audience is people who wake up early. According to Huff Post, older people typically go to sleep earlier. This time is also very p...

UAMS has played a large part in my decision to stay in Public Health. Over the summer, I participated in an internship through both UAMS and Arkansas Department of Health . UAMS stands for University of Arkansas Medical Sciences. Personally, I have been considering attending UAMS grad school for a Master's in Public Health. I love this school, and their programs. Throughout looking at their website, their public relations efforts definitely shine through. UAMS has 5 colleges and a graduate school.       The colleges that they have include; 1. College of Health Professions, 2. College of Medicine, 3. College of Nursing, 4. College of Pharmacy, 5. College of Public Health.       They are marketed as the only health sciences university in the state of Arkansas. They currently are the largest public employer in Arkansas. They have more than 10,000 total employees. Throughout their 5 colleges, they have 73 baccalaureate, master's...

Breaches of Ethics

"To be or not to be, that is the question." Every person makes decisions and life choices based on their ethics and values. As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, ethics are defined as: "a set of moral principles: a theory or system of moral values."  Every person has different opinions and beliefs based on certain topics. People are guided by how they are raised, their religion/lack thereof, their political beliefs, etc.. Specifically, in terms of marketing, ethics is defined as the "practice of promoting fairness, honesty, and empathy in all marketing activities. "      Whenever I think of unethical marketing practices, my mind always swings back to YouTube . Youtube is booming and has been since its start in February of 2005. YouTube is filled with all sorts of influencers ranging from a variety of knowledge and topics. All of these influencers are normal people like us, however, they now have access to a platform where they may c...

Crisis Public Relations

A Public Relations Perspective on Colleen Ballinger       Scandals happen all around us. Typically, we as "normal" everyday joes, probably do not even consider what happens after a scandal. I can probably name about 8 celebrities right this second who have been canceled through allegations concerning their actions that they may or may not have conducted. Scandals result in negative publicity. As described by Law Insider, negative publicity "Negative publicity means information which has been made public that has caused, or is reasonably likely to cause, a decline or deterioration in your reputation or the reputation of one or more of your products or services." In response to negative publicity, many famous individuals will take it upon themselves to try to solve this backlash through some sort of apology. Throughout this text, I will speak about a YouTuber who happened to take a unique approach to her apology video.       Colleen Ballinger is a ...
